So, what does the combination of a warm spring evening, a front porch, a crazy idea, and a bottle of Bourbon mean?…
Well in our case it meant starting a micro-distillery…
Welcome to the Pea Ridge Distillery web site. We are a newly started micro distillery and are open for tasting and sales Monday through Saturday.
And…we are a little different than other distilleries in the state.
For anyone who may be familiar with refined, elaborately decorated breweries, wineries, and micro distilleries Ummm
…yeah well that Ain’t us…
We are a…how shall I put this? “Delightfully Unrefined” operation. I mean, heck, we are located on a cattle ranch, how much more “Unrefined” can one be?
We opened for tastings and sales in December 2017, in spite of the fact that we are still doing some renovations on our tasting areas. However, if you’d like to stop by, pick up a bottle, or just taste our products you are more than welcome. Our line of clear Moonshine, as well as our own brand of Apple Pie Moonshine will be available for purchase and tastings.
On March 3, 2018 we will be serving tastings of our clear mixed as cocktails. This will allow people to try some of the more popular Cocktail mixers with our clear shine. Tasting will be held on our tasting deck from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Our hours of operation, are
Monday- Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Oh and by the way the ranch, which is populated by some animals with…shall we say “unique” personalities…
but I digress….
Our family started this venture to have some fun, to help keep the history and traditions of Moonshine Distilling in this area alive, make some authentic “shine”, and to make it possible for people to enjoy a unique tasting experience here at the ranch.
Union South Carolina has a long history of making Moonshine. These photographs show a couple of illegal stills being “disabled” by local law enforcement…
Currently we are working to build up a stock of our Moonshine, as well as creating and testing our own line of flavored Moonshine. We plan to be open to the public soon, so that anyone (over 21 years of age that is…sorry guys) can come sample some of our products, meet our rather “eclectic” staff, and perhaps get to visit with some of the animals.
